Issue on one of our Linux hosting servers

Root Cause:

On Monday, June 15th our hosting server cp-23.webhostbox.net experienced an out of memory issue and an attempt to reboot the server failed due to a network failure. 

Resolution Action:

During the situation analysis, the team  identified the problem as an issue with the drive and all attempt to bring the server up failed. The team then had to reinstall the centos6 operating system and reboot to recover and resume operations on the server.  All the accounts on the server were then restored from the latest available backup.

Improvements/Changes:

We will be scheduling a maintenance on the server in order to improve the performance, which includes updating the kernel and changing boot settings.

The issue has now been resolved by our server administration team.

The restoration has been successfully completed by our System Administration team and the services are now up and running.

Our Server Administration team is actively monitoring the server to avoid any further downtime.

The restoration of cPanel accounts is 70% complete. Our system administration team is also working toward restoring the MySQL service.

Our senior administrators have completed the restoration process for the files and currently working on restoring the databases and synchronization of the accounts.

Our senior administrators have completed the backup setup and cPanel installation now. The server restoration process will begin shortly.

Our senior administrators are working on installing CentOS 6 OS in the server post which they will perform a full backup restoration. 

We are currently facing a drive failure issue on the server due to which you will face issues in accessing websites and cPanel.

Our server administration team has successfully added a new drive and is now working towards restoring the data.
